We are pleased to see that the proposed framework for school inspection from 2012 includes the following statements:

Under Achievement:  ‘ how well disabled pupils and those who have special educational needs have achieved since joining the school.’

and under Teaching:  ‘the quality of teaching and other support provided for pupils with a range of aptitudes and needs, including for those with special educational needs’ and/or disabilities, so that their learning improves.’
