CENMAC is a team of advisory teachers who assess and review the progress of pupils who have been referred to the service because their physical disability hinders their access to the curriculum. The service offers assessment, loan of appropriate equipment, training and reviews of progress. We work in the Greater London area, with children aged 3 to 19 who have a physical disability that prevents them accessing the curriculum.
Most of our pupils live in one of these London boroughs – although they may go to school in an outer London borough:
- Kensington & Chelsea
- Hammersmith & Fulham
- City of London
If you live in Greater London but not in one of these boroughs, we might still be able to help you. Sometimes boroughs will pay for a private assessment from us. Although we would not loan equipment beyond our core area, we would give a full report including a ‘shopping list’ and details of suppliers. We can also make individual arrangements with schools through a Service Level Agreement.
Unlike other assessment centres, we can loan the equipment we recommend. We show staff how to use and maintain it.
We review the pupil’s progress at least once a year, changing equipment if necessary.
