Clicker 7 Training – 29th March 2017

We are continuing to receive a large number of requests for Clicker 7 training. We have arranged another date for this term. The details are:

Clicker 7 Introduction

Wednesday 29th March, 9.15 – 12.00
Westminster Cathedral RC Primary School, Bessborough Place, London SW1V 3SE

The course gives an overview of the program and how it can be used to help meet a variety of special educational needs. The session will be mainly “hands-on”. It covers using ready-made resources as well as adapting and creating materials to meet individual needs.

The course is likely to be oversubscribed and early booking is strongly recommended. Schools with students supported by CENMAC can reserve places, free of charge, using the training voucher codes contained in the reports provided by our advisory teachers. Otherwise places can be booked at a cost of £90 per person.

AAC Courses

1. Advanced PODD course – April & Movements for Communication course – July

From Rosie Clark:

We still have a few spaces left on the 5 day advanced PODD course with Gayle Porter, being held in Surrey from the 3rd-7th April. This course is for anyone who has completed the 2 day course and gives detailed information about all aspects of PODD implementation and is a pre-requisite to becoming a PODD trainer.

We are also hosting a 2/3 day ‘Movements for Communication’ course in Surrey from the 24th – 25th/26th July. This course is being run by Fiona Beauchamp, an Occupational Therapist from the Cerebral Palsy Education Centre (CPEC) in Australia and will talk about teaching the movements needed to develop communication skills for people with neurological motor disorders (day 1 and 2) and sensory processing challenges (day 3). Participants can attend 1, 2 or 3 days.

2. Upcoming literacy course – Jane Farrall

From Livvy Hepburn, Manor Mead School:

We are really excited to announce that Jane Farrall will be coming to run a one day workshop on ‘Literacy for all’ hosted by Manor Mead School in Surrey (In the Walton/Weybridge area) on 24th May. For more information please contact Alice Chandler – alice@manor-mead.surrey.sch.uk

We are looking to get an idea of numbers and are asking for anybody who is interested to please contact us with expressions of interest by Wednesday 15th March.


3. Specialist training for practitioners working with MSI children and young people in mainstream settings

We are pleased to announce, that in partnership with NatSIP, Sense and Surrey Physical Sensory Support Service we  will be piloting a new course: Specialist training for practitioners working with MSI children and young people in mainstream settings. This 2 day course will run between Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 March 2017, 09:30-15:30 at Quadrant Court, Guildford Road, Woking GU22 7QQ.

Clicker 7 Training Webinar

The Clicker 7 Introduction course organised by CENMAC on 2nd February is now fully booked. We hope to arrange another session next half-term.

If you’d like some pointers on getting started with the program, you can join a webinar hosted by Crick Software on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 starting at 15.45. The 45 minute presentation will show you how to:

  • Use Clicker’s built-in support tools to enable children of all abilities to achieve success across the curriculum.
  • Customise Clicker to support each individual’s learning needs.
  • Create differentiated word banks, writing books, matching, speaking and listening activities for your class using Clicker’s intuitive activity wizards.
  • Access and make use of LearningGrids – the online bank of free Clicker resources.

Widgit Software Information Day

Widgit Software is giving the opportunity to find out about the new In Print 3 and Widgit Online programs. The session will take place on the afternoon of Wednesday 1st February 2017 in Ashford, Kent. Visitors will have the chance to see and play with the two programs. Attendees will also receive a 15% discount on single installation licences for In Print 3.

Clicker Training Courses – January 2017 *FULLY BOOKED*

The courses listed are now fully booked. We are looking to schedule additional Clicker 7 training in the Spring 2017 term.

 

We have arranged two Clicker training sessions for early in January. Although Clicker 7 has been released, some schools will not be upgrading in the near future so we will be running a Clicker 6 course. Please note that this will be our last training on this version of the software.

If your school is considering upgrading from Clicker 6 to Clicker 7, special pricing is available. Until the end of the year you can get a 40% discount on the standard price. In 2017 this discount will reduce to 30%. The upgrade price does not have to be on a like-for-like basis. Even if you have just one licence for Clicker 6, the discount can be applied to 5-, 10- or 40-user licences or to an unlimited OneSchool site licence. Clicker 6 Training

We are running a Clicker 6 Introduction course at Crampton Primary School, SE17 3LE. The session will take place on 18th October and will run from 9.15 – 12.00.

Schools with students supported by CENMAC can use their training voucher codes to book places free of charge. The codes are in the reports issued following an assessment or review. Schools without voucher codes can book places at a cost of £90 per delegate.

To book places, email or call Gill Dodsworth (gill@cenmac.com or 020 8854 1019) quoting your training voucher codes, if applicable, and giving the name(s) of the delegate(s).

This course is likely to be oversubscribed so early booking is advisable.

Please note that Clicker 7 has been released and many schools are upgrading to this version. We will not be running Clicker 6 training after this term. Crick Software currently offers a 40% discount on Clicker 7 licences when a school upgrades from Clicker 6. This discount will reduce to 30% in 2017.
