If you have pupils who will be either leaving school or changing schools in July, you will need to be aware that we may be collecting earlier than usual because of the disruption caused by the Olympics.
We are shocked to learn that the Ace Centre in Oxford is having to close owing to financial difficulties and the loss of government funding. The Ace Centre is one of the country’s leading centres for assessment and support in AAC and its loss will leave a gaping hole in nationwide provision.
There is a government e-petition available to sign at http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/32670.
You can also send a message voicing your support for sustained government funding for the ACE Centre Advisory Trust to Andrew Smith MP who is the local MP for the centre and is a strong supporter.
You can do this via his website: http://www.andrewsmithmp.org.uk/
Also copy it to your MP. You can find out who they are and how to contact them at:
